Meet the Homolka's

3 Generations - We're Growing with You

It's a family affair . . .

The family farm has been around since the early 1900's

Scorched Stone Farm is located in the center of Holyrood, Wilson, and Claflin, KS and is owned by Jim and Katie Homolka. It's a family affair as our children are all incredibly involved, even those that live hours away. Our son, Seth Homolka, has assisted a great deal in cleanup and renovations as we prepare to move forward with a wedding venue in the near future. Co-owners, Josh and Jessica Homolka, along with their two little ones are an integral part of the daily operations.

Scorched Stone Farm is currently run by three generations of Homolkas.
In February/March of 2017, we have some new additions including Wagyu Beef (Kobe beef), locally grown vegetables, Ladies Day Out Workshops, and a plethora of flowers.

Jim and Josh are currently raising Wagyu beef, which is genetically predisposed to intense marbling and to producing a high percentage of oleaginous unsaturated fat. It is known for its incredibly high quality and melts in your mouth texture and flavor.
Waygu is known as Kobe Beef.

Check out our Wagyu page to learn more.

The flower farm was a dream of Katie’s, she has created floral designs for over 30 years. This was a fun hobby in the past but this year happened to be the year to put the dream in place and begin something new.

We grow over 40+ varieties of flowers on the farm, offering full-service floristry along with wholesale accounts to local florists.

We pride ourselves in offering unique arrangements which are all harvested from the farm. Don’t worry if you require flowers during the middle of winter, we can still meet your needs, but the flowers will not be harvested from the farm. We take individual orders for fresh & silk arrangements, funerals, prom, etc.

We offer wedding packages and have worked with a range of brides as well regarding floral décor and decorating.

From elegant to rustic, bold to free-flowing, we work with brides to obtain their “perfect” look.

Our first Ladies Day Out workshop was full of springtime fun as our ladies creating beautiful centerpieces full of daffodils and tulips.

Some of the most recent workshops range from Holiday Centerpiece Creation, Candy Bouquet Making, and Flower Arranging. We have so much fun with the ladies that participate. Snacks, drinks, friendship, and quite a few laughs add to our event. We host public and private workshops tailored to the group. These events are lots of fun and can be viewed through our Facebook page.

We also have 2, 30’x96’ high tunnels that the guys put up this spring as well. We are excited to utilize the space for vegetables and flowers in hopes of a longer growing season. This past spring we offered farm-fresh vegetables and fruit including, numerous types of tomatoes, zucchini, butternut squash, squash, cucumbers, watermelon, and cucumbers.
Overall, we have a lot going on and are excited to expand and grow the farm and our reach.

This is truly a family affair with three generations of Homolka’s joining in on the fun. Feel free to check out our Facebook Page and view our albums to get a better idea of what we have to offer. If you have any questions, please let us know.
